Uniswap v4 adds outside liquidity on three chains
Uniswap’s v4 aggregator hooks went live on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain, routing swaps across outside liquidity and directing protocol fees toward UNI burns.

Uniswap Labs launched aggregator hooks on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain on October 22, letting Uniswap v4 route swaps through liquidity held on other platforms. The Uniswap announcement says the hooks are available in its web app and API, with seven sources at launch that cover more than 90% of decentralised exchange activity on those chains.
The mechanism has three steps. First, an aggregator hook wraps an outside liquidity source so a router can treat it like a Uniswap v4 pool. Then, every block, the router gets fresh quotes from connected sources. When a user swaps, it compares routes across Uniswap pools and those outside sources, then settles the chosen route in one transaction. Uniswap says no new token approval is needed.
What does the hook change for a swap?
It lets the router consider liquidity beyond Uniswap’s own pools without requiring the user to find a separate venue. Think of the hook as an adapter: it presents an outside source in a format the v4 router can use. The The Block report names Fluid, Curve and PancakeSwap among the sources available at launch. Uniswap says swaps in its web app include outside liquidity automatically; developers can also route through the hooks using the API.
The hook supplies a way to compare and route to outside liquidity. It does not mean those venues’ pools are owned or operated by Uniswap. The trade still completes as one transaction, according to Uniswap’s description of the system.
How do outside routes affect UNI?
Trades routed through outside liquidity pay Uniswap protocol fees, and those fees contribute to UNI burns, the company said. That gives Uniswap a fee stream when its router uses liquidity from other platforms. The announcement does not specify the fee rate or how much trading volume the new routes may attract.
Uniswap describes the hooks as a way to bring liquidity that forms elsewhere into v4. The launch extends the router’s view across three networks, while keeping route selection inside the existing swap flow. Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain are supported through both the web app and API, The Block reported, citing a Uniswap Labs spokesperson.
