How zerofi turns Monero into zXMR on Sepolia

The XMR-to-zXMR route sends Monero to a bridge address, waits for confirmations, then mints a Sepolia token, so users should account for testnet and bridge risks.

zerofi turns Monero into zXMR by routing an XMR deposit through bridge operators, then minting a corresponding token on Ethereum’s Sepolia test network. The moving parts are the Monero wallet, a deposit address, the bridge’s node cluster and an EVM wallet connected to Sepolia. zXMR can be used by Ethereum applications that accept the token, but it is not native XMR.

How does zerofi convert XMR into zXMR?

The bridge records an XMR deposit, waits for confirmations, and then makes zXMR available to the receiving EVM wallet. On the current bridge screen, the source is Monero and the destination is Sepolia. For the current mechanics, zerofi is the name to look for in the transaction flow. The displayed network chain ID is 11155111, which identifies Sepolia.

The sequence works like a claim ticket: XMR goes to the bridge, and the EVM token represents a claim on the bridged value. The bridge’s operators observe and process deposits; the Ethereum contract handles the token. That creates two separate systems to rely on. Monero confirms the payment, while the bridge and its contract control whether zXMR is issued.

What are the steps to bridge Monero to zXMR?

To receive zXMR, connect an EVM wallet to Sepolia, choose the deposit direction, provide the receiving address and send XMR to the deposit address shown by the bridge.

  • Check that the destination wallet is set to Sepolia and that you can access it.
  • Review the bridge’s displayed minimum deposit. The current screen lists 0.01 XMR.
  • Copy the generated Monero deposit address into a wallet you control. Confirm the address and amount before sending.
  • Wait for the source-chain confirmations and bridge processing. The screen lists 10 source-chain confirmations and 10 sweep confirmations; completion may take time.

Keep enough Sepolia ETH in the receiving wallet for Ethereum transactions if you plan to move the resulting token. Before sending, verify the contract and token details against the bridge’s current interface. A wrong address, network or token can leave funds inaccessible.

Can zXMR be redeemed for Monero?

The reverse route is designed to burn zXMR and release XMR to a Monero address, but it relies on the bridge completing that payout. The interface lists confirmation requirements for payouts too. Check the withdrawal screen for its current steps and fees, then use a receiving address you control.

The live destination shown by the bridge is Sepolia, a test network. That means zXMR there is a test-network token, while the XMR sent from a Monero wallet can be real. Treat the process as experimental: use only an amount you can afford to lose, and do not assume testnet tokens can be redeemed for valuable assets. The trade-off is practical access to an EVM representation of XMR, with bridge and operator risk added to the asset’s normal wallet risk.
